My name is in Mandarin Chinese and it contains three distinct characters. My first name "Yue-Zhong" actually contains two Chinese characters - 悦中。Zheng (郑) is my family name。
Yue (悦) means happiness, and Zhong (中) means "within or among". My first name thus means "in happiness". This is how my parents raised me - always try to find happiness in life no matter what.
My parents actually changed my name once when I first started elementary school from Heng-Yue (恒悦) to Yue-Zhong (悦中). Heng (恒) means “forever”, so my previous first name basically means the same thing as the name that I have now. My parents just like the other character better I think :)
