When I was younger, I can’t tell you how many times people would hear my name “Jingquan” and assume I was a boy. I guess the “Quan” part sounded more like a classic male name, or maybe they just weren’t used to hearing “Jing” as a girl’s name. I’d get some funny reactions, like people being super surprised when they realized I wasn’t the guy they thought I was.
