I have two versions of my name: My full name and an abbreviated version I like as well. It reflects my connection with Creole heritage.

Meaning of Name

Jeannot and Johnny are the same name. חָנַן means "to be gracious". Jeannot is a common name in former French colonies. Jeannot led the battle for independence.

Behind My Name

My father jokes Johnny is short for Jonquil, the flower. :)
