George Agyapong
Pronunciation Notes:
George A-Jah-pon
Gender pronouns:
He, him, his.

Origin of Name

My name is from Ghana. It is a common surname used by the AKAN, including the ASHANTI people.

Meaning of Name

The first half of my name - "AGYA (AJah')" - literally translates into "father", an affectionate form used for male parents or people who assume such roles. The second half - "...PONG (like Ping-PONG)" connotes honor and bravery in my culture. So one may say, AGYA-PONG means an honorable and brave man/father.

Behind My Name

You may notice that some Ghanaian names end (or sound) just like mine - "PONG"! So try not to confuse us.
